Hey!

Just updated my Photoshop to 23.3 version. And when I'm trying to open any RGB file - it opens with all layers colored in white color. Seems like RGB is not active at all.

IF I transfer it into CMYK - all good.

Windows 10 Home.

Below is the print screen of RGB file turned into CMYK. Cuz I was unable even to make a printscreen in RGB.

This should be fixed by the 23.3.1 update that just went out.

Try this: Go to Preferences > Performance... click Advanced Settings... and uncheck "GPU Compositing" - then restart Photoshop. Does the problem still occur?

Hi

You haven't mentioned which version of Photoshop you're using but if it's version 23.3 try disabling this option in preferences and restarting Photoshop to see if it helps

The label on your screen shot must be the document name, but just to be doubly sure, .PNG files need to be placed rather than pasted.  IME they always turn black when pasted, and your screen is white, but covering all bases, just in case.

100% working!!!

This is how I solve this issue..
Go to Image > Mode > select 32 Bits/Channel

Keyuri5C3A_0-1650361131797.png

Choose "Don't Merge"

Keyuri5C3A_1-1650361180386.png

Choose any of this i.e. either "Rasterize" or "Don't Rasterize", as I didn't get any difference in my PSD

No need to change PSDs or bit depth.

The latest version has put more of the compositing workload onto the GPU rather than the CPU. That is good news as it should help performance with the larger image files we use these days. However, it could expose existing bugs in GPU hardware or drivers.
You can try going to Preferences > Performance > GPU Settings >Advanced and unchecking GPU Compositing. Then close and restart Photoshop.

If that helps, try updating your GPU drivers to the latest versions designed for creative work (e.g NVidia release Studio drivers) and when updating use the clean install option. Once done you can try rechecking the GPU compositing option and restarting Photoshop.

Copy-pasting PNGs works fine here. No black, no white, just the image.

Maybe you're seeing a variety of the same issue? Does unchecking GPU compositing make any difference at your end?

Good Morning.
I am having problems with photoshop since two days ago.
When I launch the program Isee a unusual white background. If I try to move a windows it duplicate it

and if I click on the "new layer" button it creates a white layer (same things if I duplicate the background layer)
Photoshop 2022 relese 23.3.0
I ran antivirus and everything is ok and protected.

I have 75gb of virtual memory disk
How can I solve? Photoshop is useless. thank you! 🙂

I tried that yesterday. That didn't do anything. If that were the problem it should still be addressed as broken, right? So...

I would guess you are getting a white blank document on your screen since
the last
Photoshop CC update?
To resolve this problem go to: EDIT/PREFERENCES/PERFORMANCE/ADVANCED
SETTINGS...
then UN-TICK GPU COMPOSITING BOX...close Photoshop and re-open.

App version: 23.3 (just updated automatically this weekend)

Platform and OS: Windows 10 64-bit on a Samsung desktop computer

Problem:

I open a JPG image in Photoshop, and it automatically opens as a background. That's fine - that's what it's supposed to do. But when I try to convert the background to a layer, the image disappears, but the layer preview says it's still there. When I try to convert the image to a smart object, same thing happens. When I add a new transparent layer with the image still on the background, same thing happens. I was able to use the paint bucket tool directly on the image while it's in the background, but if I try to use the magic eraser tool, I have this issue again. The thumbnail shows it worked, but the image is gone and the canvas is white, not transparent. All this happens whether I'm working in the image file directly or a Photoshop document. Apparently this same thing happened in 19.1 on Mac OS 10.13.2 and 10.13.3 and on PS CC 19.1.2, and in versions (don't know which version, platform, or OS) in 2020 and 2021.

Recently opened photoshop 2022 after about a week and a half to try and edit something, and noticed that once I did layer from background on an image it turned blank. I then opened old files and saw that it was blank for them all.

I'm using photoshop 2022 and my computer has updated from Windows 10 20H2 to Windows 10 21H2 since I last used photoshop. What can I do to fix this?

I've attached three images, the first one is an old file, the next two are before and after of doing layer from background.

UPDATE:

I just selected a portion of the image and pasted it into an entirely new document, and had the exact same issue as before. If I export the file to a PNG while it's showing this blank canvas glitch, the image saves the way it's supposed to, the way it looks in the thumbnail.5a. pasted into a new document - thumbnail shows it worked but the canvas is blank.png
