Latest update today (25.7) claims to still be compatible with macOS 11.7.1 but not for me. Tried unistall/reinstall with no luck. Going back to 25.6 works fine.
I was also using the beta, but can't remember the last version I opened. Regardles, the beta no longer works either, same error message that is attached.
Is this my issue or did 25.7 outgrow macOS Big Sur?
System requirements page was the first thing I checked. Posted here just to vent and to see if anyone else was having the same issues. The Mac can be updated, but for now we are stuck at 11.7.1 due to other software and work requirements.
I was wondering if maybe it is something else about this base model M1 Mac Mini as anything past 25.6, including Beta 25.7-8-9, gives me the same results.
You have an M1 mini, it can run the latest Sonoma OS and the next release this fall, and likely be supported for 4-5 more years. There is zero reason to stay with Big Sur.
Big Sur is no longer supported or getting security updates from Apple. I assume that Adobe will be dropping support soon, especially since an M1 can be upgraded.
If it was a personal computer, you would be correct, but as this is reliant on other software and restrictions at work we are stuck on Big Sure for now
Which is why I ask what software? And "restrictions at work" is nonsense, there is typically no business reason to run unsupported, incompatible, and out-of-date software on a business device and surely your IT people understand that.
I'm on 11.7.10 and Adobe claims this runs on Big Sur (CC app and sys req page), but it won't run.
Same here. CC app prompted me to update, so I did. System Requirements web page still indicates Big Sur compatibility. I'm on 11.7.10. App won't launch.

I agree, there is no reason we should be running outdated software and our IT department is aware. However we are not a mom and pop business so updating our OS requires industry specific software to be updated which requires millions of dollars of equipment to be updated. All of which is constantly happening for us globally, it just so happens our little corner seems to be at the tail end this time around. Don't mean to be dismissive but all of this is irrelevant to my original question though since if I could update I would have.
When Photoshop outgrew Catalina (MacOS 10.15.7), the Creative Cloud Desktop app would not even install it, and would give the need more money, I mean need to upgrade message. So unlikely they would disqualify Big Sur without saying so. Also I'm sure all Big Sur owners would have the same problem.
I did find a thread on here about Ps 25.7 beta not working for some when it was released, but it looks like it may have been related to having NIK collection 6 installed.
I gotta think it's something with the combination of this low end model of Mac Mini, Big Sur, and whatever changed in Ps 25.7. And I'm ok with that, just would like to see the system requirements page updated for the few of us that have this combination if that's the case.
I know the base M1 silicon did not have the"Media Engine" cores that the Pro-Max-Ultra has, and yes I know that's more to do with processing video codecs but with Firefly and everything else being added to Ps you never know what they're leveraging in the OS. 🤷:male_sign:
I have an M1 mini and it runs the current versions of Adobe CC. Using an unsupported OS is the problem- you'd have the same issue if you were a developer, for example. You couldn't run the latest XCode.
Like many people, you'll need to stick with the older app versions.
The *problem* is that Adobe is peeing on our legs and telling us it's raining.
Previously, any version not supported would be impossible to even install. But in the case of 25.7, the CC app lets us install it, implying that it will run, but it does not. And the sys reqs page, which has a date at the top indicating it contains currently correct information, indicates that 25.7 will run on Big Sur. Adobe screwed this up, so only Adobe can set it straight.
Just think Adobe might want to update their CC app & system requirements pages to show this if that's the case. It's smart enough to let me know that a hand full of other beta apps are not compatible before letting people update, just not Ps or Ps beta?
Objection, assuming facts not in evidence. Until someone from Adobe actually weighs in to say "Big Sur is not supported" then we don't know for sure beyind anecdotal evidence. Maybe its just an installation bug that will be fixed, for example.

Same here. Adobe really screwed up this release. They need to recompile the app for Big Sur, as everything implies that it should run on Big Sur, but it actually doesn't.
Hi, here the same thing happens to me on two different computers with mac os 11.7 and photoshop 25.7. After rolling back to 25.6 it works perfectly again. This is the error message, it says ps was compiled for mac os 12.
