P: Photoshop 27.0 & 27.2 (beta) Cant see My Files & blank Save As window

Community Beginner ,
Nov 09, 2025 Nov 09, 2025

I have a macbook and just recently updated from PS 2025 to PS 2026. I noticed I couldn't see any of my PSD files within the PS app, but I could see the files in my creative cloud. When I tried to create a new doc and save it, all I could see was a black screen without any prompts. I'm not sure what to do so if anyone's experiencing the same thing and has an answer PLEASE lmk.

Clicking the home screen button in Photoshop shows my recently opened files. If I go to "Your files", however, does show blank screen.

Nate, can you see the PSDs in Finder, when Finder is set to show Icons?

Did this issue crop up right after upgrading to Ps 27.0?

Try resetting preferences. [one of the easiest ways is in PS 2025>Settings>General, click the Reset Preferences On Quit, then click Yes to confirm your choice. Also, consider saving pref]

I just noticed the issue right after updating from the latest version of PS
2025 I believe to PS 2026. I’ll try your suggestion, but yeah it’s
literally a blank screen.

Hey, @itsjustnate01. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll help you figure this out.

Please launch Photoshop from the Creative Cloud desktop app, and go to Photoshop 2026 > Settings > File Handling > Check the box for 'Enable legacy save-as' & restart Photoshop; you can reverse this change & uncheck the box after opening the Legacy Save window once.

Let me know if it helps. Thanks!

I have the same problem on Windows 11 (latest updates, this can't have anything to do with "outdated system"), it just started happening with the latest beta...

I can obviously just revert (I hope), but I would prefer to keep the new generative expand options, so I wonder if anybody found a solution for this?

When I save  my work on the newly updated (as of today) 2026 photoshop, the save panel pops up and is gray, blank.

I have no way of saving my work... well done on the update. Glad you're testing these before sending them out to us... clap clap.

After updating to the latest beta (mostly because I wanted to test the updated generative expand), I've found out that I can't access the page with my cloud files, or save to cloud.

I can still access the cloud files from my home screen (that's working just fine), it's the inability to save to cloud that annoys me.

The screen of "My files" is simply blank, and while trying to save to Cloud, the UI tries to load content, but then appears blank as well.

I update the beta version regularly, and I've never had this happen. The easiest solution is obviously to revert back (and really, really hope this is just related to the beta and that I'm not screwed, losing access to all my cloud stuff), but I would like to find out the culprint and keep the latest beta, if possible.

I have the latest updates on Windows 11.

Well, looks like I am actually screwed, because simply reverting to the older version didn't help... the cloud screen is still blank.

Hey All! I've consolidated your reports together. Please collect the logs from the following locations and share them here or via a direct message to me from my profile.

Go to the Preferences folder:

macOS: /Users/[user name]/Library/Logs/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop 2026 (The user Library folder is hidden by default on macOS. To access files in the hidden user Library folder, see How to access hidden user library files.)

Windows 11: Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [version]/Logs

(Windows + R > type in %APPDATA%\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2026\Logs , or %APPDATA%\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Beta\Logs)

Awaiting on hearing from you.

Thanks!

This is definitely an Adobe issue, not a Mac issue. The reason is being PS
was working just fine before updating to PS 2026. Going back to older
version after that still didn’t resolve the current issue which is the back
screen (amongst other things). As a freelance graphic designer, this is
going to effect my ability to even create altogether.

Hi all,

Thank you for your time and patience. It looks like we need to troubleshoot this directly on your machine. Please send me a DM (Click on my name to open my profile and then send me a message) with your email address and your preferred time slot. I’ll arrange a live session with the Photoshop product team where we’ll try to recreate the issue and collect the necessary logs from your system.

The more users who sign up for this, the better our chances of identifying and correcting the error. Looking forward to your DMs!

Regards,

Srishti

It is 11-15-2026, and this is still happening!  Thanks for the 11-4-2025 tip to enable the legacy file export.  But in truth, end users should not have to figure this sort of thing out for themselves.

Hey, since the last update I can't see my saved files in the Save to Adobe Cloud Storage panel.

I can only see in "Your files" all my folders, but no files. Even the files which are not in folders are not visible. I tried to create a "New Project" (here - Black Friday) but when I save my file, I cannot see any of my files!!

i can see it when I open an existing file, in the PS homepage, or the open a file panel but I need to see it when I save. I only see folders, empty folders. It is very, VERY annoying to have to go back to the "Open a file" panel just to see it. Do I have to change something in my preferences or something?

Hi @Fny74 ,

We recently updated the experience to optimize for folder navigation when users are saving or moving files. We have heard similar feedback to the one you have provided and are discussing how to address it.

In order to bring more detailed feedback to the team, can you share what makes it helpful to see the files you already have in a folder while you are trying to save a new file?

Thanks.

Hello, when I work on a project, I often need to create multiple variations in different formats. This panel allows me to get an overview of the overall rendering of all my files, track my progress (I press Ctrl + Shift + S and in a fraction of a second I have a preview of all my files without leaving my workspace, which helps me check compliance), and easily add a V2 by simply clicking on V1, with the name automatically filled in the field. These are workflows developed over several years that optimize productivity. Removing them takes away reference points and processes that are extremely useful to us, especially for highly visual people like me. I believe it is absolutely necessary for this panel to remain identical to the “Open a file” panel.
For my Black Friday project, I will end up handling around thirty PSD files, and even with just three files, I can already feel a negative difference in the process. It may sound minor when I write it, but I assure you it is not minor—the impact is considerable. We are three webdesigners in the office, and we all share the same very negative feeling.

@Fny74 have you thought of using Adobe Bridge? Bridge is a digital asset manager that comes with your Creative Cloud subscription where you can manage, preview, rename, and version multiple PSD files without leaving your workspace!

Thanks for your suggestion! I’ve actually used Bridge in the past, but I don't like it at all. The “Save As” panel in Photoshop gives me an instant, file-explorer-like overview of all my files in just a fraction of a second, without leaving my workspace. Just by hitting CTRL SHIFT S. It’s also much easier when saving new versions. This speed and simplicity are essential for projects with dozens of PSD files, so switching to Bridge would slow me down rather than help. I would really appreciate the come back of the old interface, It would be only positive because the new interface has less features and we cannot see what files are in what project / folder. We don't have any preview anymore; how can we be sure if we have every files needed in a folder ?

Thanks @Fny74 ,

Let I'll take this feedback to the team. For now I suggest you do the CMD+O for previwing content within a folder, that should solve for previwing of the exisitng content - but I understand it doesn't solve for the override.

We will look to address some of your concerns in a future update.

Hi all,

We haven’t received a response from any of you regarding the debug session for this issue, and our team is still actively investigating it and looking for more details. We’ve observed that for some users, disconnecting their VPN resolved the problem.

For others, the following steps helped:

  • Quit Photoshop and the Creative Cloud desktop app completely.
  • Go to follwoing locations and rename the UXP folder to something like this UXP.old:
     - Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\UXP to UXP_backup
     - macOS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/UXP to UXP_backup
  • Restart Creative Cloud, then launch Photoshop and test again.
  • If the issue is resolved, please share the old folder with us for further investigation.

Please let us know if any of these steps were helpful for you.

Regards,

Srishti

Hi folks.  My name is Justin and I'm an Engineering Manager at Adobe and my team’s focus is the Cloud Document UI.  I've been following this and a couple other related threads.

First of all, thank you for reporting the issue and I apologize for the pain this is causing you.  It is my priority to ship quality software and I’m not proud of this miss.  Unfortunately, we are really struggling to reproduce the issues in this thread.

To help isolate the issue, I have a few questions and points of guidance:

  1.   While attempting to move directories from previous installations into the new deployment directory may appear to "fix" the issue, what is really happening here is that an old component set is being used.  This will be reverted on the next application update, causing the issue to resurface.  I'd encourage avoiding that attempt because it puts a user's installation in an unsupported and difficult to diagnose state.
  2.   Request: Can folks please attempt to load Files within the Creative Cloud Desktop application?  Do you see your Files and other tabs listing as expected or do you reproduce the same issue(s)?  Also, same question, but for adobe.com/files?
  3.   Request: Can folks confirm their network settings?  Specifically, I'm wondering about firewall/VPN settings potentially blocking the loading of critical UI components.  The latest version of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign dynamically loads the Creative Cloud UI components online.  If http://shared-components.adobe.com is blocked, a blank screen could appear.  I'm working with some partners to get this HelpX page updated to reflect the same:  https://helpx.adobe.com/in/enterprise/kb/network-endpoints.html

Let me also re-iterate Srishti's request for anyone who is willing to participate in a debugging call with myself and a couple members of my team.  It's important to me that you are all unblocked and can enjoy the full suite of creative products we offer at full fidelity.

Cheers,

Justin

If you've already changed the directory and you're unblocked, I think leaving things the way they are until the next release will be best.

If you still need to access your Cloud Documents, please attempt via the Creative Cloud Desktop application or adobe.com/files.  If either/both of these are non-functional in the same way as the Photoshop desktop application, please share that feedback here.  In that case, it's highly likely that network settings (e.g. VPN, overly ambitious system-wide ad-blockers) could be at play here and we can help with next steps.

https://helpx.adobe.com/in/enterprise/kb/network-endpoints.html has been updated with new guidance to allow shared-components.adobe.com as a subdomain for Creative Cloud applications to function.  Cloud Document components are now fetched on application boot from that URL and blocking it results in the behavior noted in this thread.  If anyone on this thread is part of an organization with custom firewall or domain blocking rules, please request that your IT Administrator validates the updated guidance for the organization's allow-list rules.

In the coming weeks, we have a new release that will land on Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.  That release will have additional error messaging and provide a button to return to the operating system-based picker.  I'll respond back here when that's released.

Thank you for following up.  The more feedback we get from customers like yourself, the more action we can take and unblock everyone.

Cheers,

Justin
