P: Photoshop liquify zoom slow werid

Photoshop zoom is weird with delay in Liquify filter.

If i try to zoom in to more than 50%, it will take as long as 3 seconds to load the image. And then all of a sudden,  zoom in.

something wrong... This is very inconvenient. I reset the settings of Photoshop and reinstalled it. It's the same problem.

My laptop, imac is same issue. No OS problem... Photoshop version is 23.3

We recently released Ps 23.3.1.  Have you tried this update yet?  If so, can you please also try disabling the following:

• Preferences -> Performance -> (GPU) Advanced Settings ... -> GPU Compositing
• Preferences -> Performance -> Multithreaded Compositing

Please let me know how this goes either way.  Sorry for your experience.

I tried install current version(23.3.1) and it's same. Also I've already tried the method(disable GPU Compositing/Multithreaded Compositing) you suggested, but it still lags.

Window10, Mac is same issue...

This happens in most common photos unless they're really small size image.
Typical image size(such as 3000x5000px.. but it's old base DSLR image, Current DSLR or Mirrorless image is at least 6000x8000px). You could say it's because the image size is big, but... It wasn't like this at all before. And all my computers are good... =( 

I will let you know what you can refer to while fixing this bug.

1. If you run Liquify at a normal resolution and zoom in, there will be a lag when zooming in by more than 50%.

2. Funny thing is... Same image, and select some area(use marquee or lasso tool) then try Liquify ... it's no lag.

When I run Liquify, I think there's something wrong with the code that's rendered at high resolution. I want you to focus on that part. It is not a matter of specification. The old version was fine for me(The super-large image taken with a medium-sized camera wasn't a problem lol)

Let's make sure we're in a default state and there are no stale setting somewhere:
Restore your preferences using this manual method:
https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Manually
Does it work correctly?
If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back.
If it does solve the problem, I would like to get the folder of settings to try and figure out what is bad with them.

After that, if you're still having trouble, it may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

I've never seen anyone who doesn't have this problem...

DId you try zooming shortcut ( ctrl + ) , you get lag over 50%.

Acutually, if not use shortcut, mouse click .. but same lag.

I Upload system information for one of my desktops.
I saw your video, did you check shortcut( Ctrl + ) ?
And this happen start point is 5000~6000px.
One more info, if run Liquify, don't wait loading(becasue We don't actually wait when we work.) As soon as the window opens, immediately Press Hold on Ctrl +, and you'll get lag. 
If it's just a Windows computer, I understand, it happens with good-spec computers, bad-spec computers, my laptop, iMac, Mac Pro, Mac Mini, everything.

that's my post. And I'm also stressed out about the same kind of lag about zooming in as you are.

What I can suggest is that you use Photoshop 2015.5 version or 2020 (21.0.3).

That two version is stable and fast no matter what you do.
