Top menu not working after opening camera raw filter from Photoshop, making an edit and going back to Photoshop.

Steps to reproduce
Open an image in Photoshop, make edits as usual

Select Filter > Camera Raw Filter

Make an edit, like adding a Vignette
Click OK to go back to image
Click on any item in the top menu - nothing is clickable

Must force quit application and reopen for menu items to be clickable again

ok, I think I found a trick to unlock photoshop menus. After opening camera raw and going back, I clicked on the "library" item in the right panel and the menus magically unlocked... or before starting camera raw go to "library" and once you go back the menus worka.pngexpand image

Hi All! While the team is investigating this, please use this quick workaround when you see this issue.

  • Simply press CMD + TAB to focus away from Photoshop and into any other application, then return to Photoshop.

Let us know if this helps. Thanks!

Photoshop 2025 on my macbook pro...Sometimes when I import photos and work, if I open the camera, make some adjustments to it, and then go back to the previous state, when I touch the nav bar at the top, it freezes for a while and there is no response. This problem keeps occurring frequently in Photoshop Beta and Photoshop 2025....This causes Photoshop to have to be completely closed and reopened.

While running Photoshop 26.3.0 on my macbook running Sequoia 15.3.1 , the top bar of my computer seemingly randomly stops responding completely. This includes the apple icon / main menu in the top left corner, all buttons, as well as the utility icons on the right side (bluetooth, wifi, etc.). I saw this exact thread in this community from 2020 and it was never resolved, just for reference.

I have found no correlation to a specific tool or action being the cause of the problem. My only option at that point is to use my keyboard hotkeys cmd+S to save the file, then close and reopen Photoshop where the top bar will work for a little while, until it decides not to again where I have to save and repeat.

You man the menu bar. Then the menus themselves do not work? You can try to reset Photoshop's preferences manually by dragging the preferences folder to the desktop. This way you can copy them back if it does not work: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Manually

Yes, the menu bar. No spinning wheel. The entire menu becomes frozen and does not respond at all.

I have reset my preferences so I will report back on my findings, thank you!

hyp_8116 is correct. You can also do a comand tab to another application and tab back to Photoshop. This works as well. I find when I first start PS if I go to the library and click on it before opening a RAW file in ACR it seem to work well.
