Hi All! While the team is investigating this, please use this quick workaround when you see this issue.

  • Simply press CMD + TAB to focus away from Photoshop and into any other application, then return to Photoshop.

Let us know if this helps. Thanks!

@zhia06 @michaelgc @volkan_0021 - I just installed the previous version of Photoshop - V 25.11.0, and I am no longer having the issue.  Thanks for posting @zhia06!!!

Try starting the computer in Safe Mode to see if some other software is causing problems. I am not seeing this on either Intel or M1 so I have to wonder if something else is going on with these reports.

The top menu isn't working after opening a raw filter in Photoshop, making an edit and returning to Photoshop.

Steps to reproduce
Open an image in Photoshop, make edits as usual
Select Filter > Camera Raw Filter
Make any edit, i.e., adding contrast,
Click OK to go back to the image
Click on any item in the top menu and nothing works.
The tools on the left side of the screen work fine.

I have to force Photoshop to close quit and reopen for menu items to be clickable again. Photoshop is up to date. I've deleted the app a couple of time using CCleaner and reinstalled the program. No joy.

@Patty248993045taj That’s awfully frustrating for you. I'm really sorry the thorough reset process didn't work for you, I realise it takes time to do - it's always worth a shot as it has helped many users, with all sorts of issues, but I realise that’s no solace for you.

I hope @Sameer K can help you, he's an Adobe guy so has access to resources we don't.

I'm sorry I couldn't help

@Tatiana5E88 - did you just update to the new MacOS Sequoia? If so, and you are using the newest version of Photoshop, version 25.12 it did it to me and a few others in this thread.  We had to go back to version 25.11 of Photoshop for it to not lock up on us. No word from Adobe or @sameer about a fix for it. There is a link I posted in this thread for the steps to install a previous version.

Je ne vois pas le bout du tunnel avec les bugs de la dernière version de PS et Mac OS sequoia. Est-ce que cela ferait sens de supprimer PS puis de le réinstaller ? Merci

I don't see the end of the tunnel with the bugs in the latest version of PS and Mac OS Sequoia. Would it make sense to delete PS and then reinstall it? THANKS

One bug amongst may others. When I open a PS file, then go to camera raw, exit back to the file, I am then unable to use some tools like for example export my work to .jpeg, or even to save my work. The tools are not active. I need to close my file (then PS asks if I want to save my work), close PS, reopen PS, reopen my original file and then only, those tools that were not active before are active again. Just imagine how I work and how much time I lose. ☹️ Many thanks for your help

I had no issue with Mac OS 15.0.

But after upgrading to Mac OS 15.0.1, I experienced the menu buttons not working.

Full preferences reset did not work, but uninstalling Photoshop (with preferences deletion) and reinstalling did the trick.

Thanks!

Je compatis… La v.26 est encore instable à mon avis tout comme sequoia. Essayes d'intaller la Beta 26.1 pour voir si les problèmes persistent. Mais en général en production il vaut mieux toujours attendre que les platres soient essuyés par les aures…

I have not seen non-functional buttons or menus under Sequoia, either 15.0.or 15.0.1, on either Intel or M1 Macs. Just as a data point.

I just updated to the new 26.0 version, and this is still an issue for me.  Once again, I reverted back to version 25.11 and everything is working fine.

I have tried many things to solve the issue vs Camera raw vs last update of PS vs OS Sequoia and can confirm as said by PattyBuch that the only way so far is using V25.11. Hope this will last until Adobe makes its job and provide an update working for everyone including non expert like me ...

I have the same problem, plus, it also happens if I use the liquify filter.

I've tried ALL the suggestions multiple times and ways and still no joy. This only began after I installed Sequoia 15 and I have a lot of work to do. Guess I'll be downdrading my OS until Adobe finishes testing OS15.

I've been running PS 2025 for about a week. When opening RAW files in ACR it  disables the top row of drop down menu's. It only does it with RAW files and ACR. Once I make my edits in ACR and open the file, the top row menu's are disabled. To quit I have to do a Command Q. I'm running it on a MacBook Pro, OS-Sonoma, 16 gb ram. Any ideas on resolution?

Do you mean the Photoshop menus? And ACR is by then closed again? That was a bit unclear.

If that's it, haven't seen that here. But that's on Windows. It sounds like some ACR process is still running.
