When I installed the latest version of photoshop, 26.3, the object selection tools, such as removing the background, were not accessible to me. When I try to use them, I get the error below.

I use windows 11, with this version of photoshop.

I've uninstalled the programme and reinstalled it, but the problem reappears because it says that the select subject model is not loaded correctly.

Can anyone in the community help me?

Alguém da comunidade consegue me ajudar.

Hey, @Catarina_Sousa3243. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. Please share the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload & attach here. Does this happen when you use any image?

Try changing the Select Subject mode from Edit > Preferences > Image Processing > Select Subject to Cloud & Selection process to Stable.

If this does not help, go to the location of the preference folder below and rename it to backup.

  • Windows 10/11: Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [version]/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings
  • You can press Press the Windows key > Enter 'Run' > Enter %APPDATA%\Adobe
  • Rename the Adobe Photoshop folder by adding a .old at the end. (Adobe Photoshop 2024 > Rename > Adobe Photoshop 2024. old), You can restore these preferences later if needed.(https://adobe.ly/4860qM9)
  • Restart the computer.

These changes will give a fresh start to Photoshop as a fresh install. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks!

Sameer K

Do you mean this reply from @Sameer K in May 2024 or another one?

Bonjour,

J'utilise PS version 26.2 avec window 11 Famille.

Aprés avoir chargé une image au format JPEG, lorsque je souhaite faire une sélection du sujet, le message d'erreur suivant apparait. " Impossible d'exécuter la commande Sujet Select, Subject classifer model not loaded correctly".

Merci pour votre aide.

In May 2024, it was stated that "The team has determined the root cause, and a fix should be released soon."
And today is January 1, 2025.
Yes, 2025........
