P: Remove Tool Not Working Update 24.6

I just updated Photoshop and the Remove Tool is not working and it has a black smudge whereever I paint the effect, hope if it's a bug then it gets fixed soon...thanks and if you have any solution then please help

Try going to Preferences/Image Processing and change the settings to Cloud ad More Stable. Restart PS

I have the same error, Adobe rep spent two hours remotely changing stettings on my PC, which ended in no change.  So if they can't sort it then there is a much bigger problem!!

Not this accurate blunder but rather I'm likewise not ready to utilize the Eliminate Apparatus. The one I get is a program mistake:

My company laptop has the same problem. Adobe has not yet proposed a solution. I hope for an update in a few days. Very annoying.

Especially since the beta made itself the default on my system.  I mean, I can change the associations back to the current version, but pffft.  Rude!

Hi @reandn that is your OS settings. Be default your computer will always open the latest version of an installed app.

Thanks.  I somehow figured a beta that was this far from being ready for prime time would be outside that process.  Naive of me!  Of course, it wouldn't be a problem if I could trust it not to crash.

Also note that when there is selected the remove tool and "open as layers" images from LR they wont open as layers but as single images.

In the Photoshop Beta version, I had the same problem...I unistalled the program (24.6), installed the 24.5 version and now works perfectly, but I get a message to update on the screen which I can not delete.
However, in the normal version (not Beta) 24.5, the remove tool still does not work.

I have the same problem. Program error on Remove Tool. Also, cursor changes to an arrow instead of circle when I try to use it.

I have a problem on both PS 24.5 and Beta 24.6.

But on Photoshop Beta 24.5 Remove Tool works just fine. With same prefferences, on same machine.

I hope this helps figuring out the bug

For those getting the program error message when opening the Remove Tool, roll back to version 24.5 on the BETA app. This is the only one with a functioning Remove Tool for me.

Rolling back to 24.5 Beta in order to have the Renove Tool working is not really an option, because you are losing the Generative Fill...

Just a tip...Going back from 24.5 to 24.6 the Generative Fill was not working this time, due to Network problems..., although there was no change in my computer  configuration. It was solved by allowing the Photoshop Beta (24.6) through Firewall.

Neither the 24.7 update for the Beta, just released, has fixed the problem with the Remove Tool..Frustrating...

I just spoke to an agent , so after an hour of remote control , checking with gpu drivers , different version this and that , they are finally willing to lodge a report  . I am not sure if their engineering team even care at this point but I did link them this thread .

version beta 24.5 got remove tool working , remove 24.4 and 24.6 nope ( including the newest 24.7 ) , the main app doesn't work as well
