P: Save for Web, unable to use short cuts in save dialog (Copy/Cut/Paste) file name

When I am saving a file for web, I adjust the size of the image or file and when the dialog box opens for me to put in my file name, I hit command+v to paste in the name I want to use to save the file. However it doesn't paste in the save as dialog box, it pastes in the height dimension box. I have made sure my cursor is in fact in the 'save as' dialog box however no matter what I try, I can't paste in the box unless I right click in the dialog box and click 'paste'.

this needs to be fixed, basic functionality!

EDIT: in photoshop CC 2019 the problem does not exist,
it is just PS CC 2020 (both with macOS Catalina)
so a "fix" is to downgrade PS to the old 2019 (20.1 version) again.

I do believe this issue has been fixed. I had noticed in the past not being able to paste into the name field but I can now, so likely was addressed in the 2021 Photoshop release. I've confirmed that I can do this on both Catalina and Big Sur.

It seems to be mostly fixed in 2021 indeed, however, when pasting a filename using ctrl+v it also pastes over the file extension, rendering the files unusable on Windows without adding .jpg to it manually. The alternative is to select the filename, excluding the extension and then pasting the new filename. So it's half a solution, that's something at least!

This issue with the file extensions is a bigger issue that happens in ALL saving scenarios and not tied to just the copy paste problem here. The extension problem is over a year old, while it is tagged "in progress" I guess we'll see what that means as far as being fixed.

For now, on MOST saves my work around for when the Save window comes up is to double click the file name. This will select the name and not the extension. The one place it doesn't work so great in is here in Save for Web. If you file name isn't already considered web ready, like if you have spaces in the file name, the script that goes through and replaces the spaces with - makes the name only selectable by click and drag. But for like "This_is_a_file.jpg" the double click will select the text. I'm not sure if there is a keyboard shortcut equivalent of the double click on the name.

This has been fixed. I can't say what version it was addressed in but can confirm that in version 22.4.3 on MacOS you can indeed now paste/copy/cut in the Save For Web file name field now.
