Yeah. I think it's time someone started shaming them into doing something about it. Your IG would be a good start.

This isn't necessarily an IG post idea, but I'm dreaming of a Kickstarter campaign that would add to the public shaming. It would go toward funding different levels of public humiliation. Like with so much you would place a Reddit ad. With more you'd take out an ad in a photoshop magazine. And the ultimate goal would be something like placing a billboard near Adobe HQ. And if they somehow fixed it before the campaign was fully-funded you could cancel it or take out a congratulatory ad.

@steven_hill Curious if they've deleted your post. I just popped over and can't find it anywhere. Do I have the correct page? https://www.facebook.com/Photoshop/

I would like to overwrite an existing image with photoshop but it is not possible because it saves always with "copy" even if I selected the original name and said "replace". Why is it not possible anymore? It was alwas possible!

Damn, I got tired reading that. I feel your pain. Seriously, Adobe, help us. It's not like we're asking you to bring back FLASH...

So... do we just all go post on their FB wall so that they know how annoying this is?

I notice PS has no "provide feedback" menu option. I'd happily report this every time I used Save As if I had a way to contact someone who actually was listening

Just imagine how tired I got writing it. Now imagine how tired I am writing anything about this never-ending issue.

I just posted this, I think we should continue a more aggressive  social media strategy.

Talk about your canned response. Agree. A more aggressive social media strategy is in order. This is unconscionable!

It's a bloody shame Adobe...! Still creating new features for Photoshop dummies to changes skies in one click.... That is what professional Photoshop users want.... NOT!!!

First fix the this SAVE AS BUG.... It makes me angry every day...

Hey Adobe, shut down your sham "bug reporting" site. It's offensive, an insult to paying customers who expect you to deliver the timely bug fixes you promised when you implemented your software-rental scam.

Nope. Still broken. If you're saving a flattened file it works as expected.

But if you're using Save As to flatten the file (removing layers to save as a JPEG) it still saves a copy.

Ah yes, my bad. I was working with layered files, but "saved for web". Dammit. False alarm, folks!

Updated to Big Sur, and Photoshop 20.0.1 on my MacBook Pro, hoping for the best. Alas, the issue persists. A fancy new dialog box asks me to confirm "overwrite filename.jpg" before NOT overwriting it and saving it as filename copy.jpg. Versioning for clients and general file keeping remains a nightmare. Hard to believe this issue exists on Adobe's flagship product, and has for three updates!
