How big of a file were you using? Any other apps open that would take away from the available RAM?

Currently, the best solution is to not use remove tool in that version...

For both window and mac, you have to use the Remove tool at the risk of potential crash. So, if I have to use it, I save it by pressing Ctrl+S before using the remove tool.

Yeah unfortunately not the best "solution"

1. Defeats the purpose of the "remove tool" features. Its there to benefit us and to be used. And remember, we are paying for it. Its a subscription

2. If you're working especially on jpeg images, multiple saves will destroy the quality of your image. Try saving your jpeg for multiple times and zoom it in. That's the result of overwriting file over and over again

@Putragraphy  I don't think you understand what I'm saying. Because in certain versions, the Remove tool is very unstable, which means you have to be careful if you have to keep that version. You don't have to save it as jpg. It means save intermediate courses with psd.
I also agree that we pay and use the program, but what can we do?
So far, there's only one version that's missing from the official release. 23.4? I don't remember exactly, but the bug at that time completely damaged the image itself. So many people reported this, and the release was deleted so that it couldn't even be downloaded at all.
But now this can potentially avoid the problem if you don't use crash or issue-causing remove tool.
So there's nothing we can do right now that we're using Photoshop 2024, or just have to be careful when we're using the remove tool in 2025.

"I’m working with a JPEG file in Photoshop on a system with 36 GB of RAM. I also work with 100 GB video files in a competitor video editing program without any crashes. However, Adobe software, including both Photoshop and Premiere, frequently crashes on me. I experienced similar issues back when I was using Adobe Premiere on Windows. It’s frustrating, especially since my hardware should be more than capable of handling these files."
