3D menu doesn't appear - Photoshop CS6 extended

The 3D menu doesn't appear on my Photoshop CS6 extended.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate (Version 6.1)

Any ideas about what is going on?

The appearance / hiding of the menu is dependent on whether Photoshop thinks your license is for Extended or Standard, and that's managed through the serial number.

If you've purchased Extended, but only Standard features are available, you may ultimately have to call Adobe customer support to get it worked out.  But some folks have reported here on the forum that Deactivating the software (through the Help menu) then reactivating it has cleared similar problems.

Thanks for your answer. I uninstalled and installed it again and now the 3D menu is appearing.

But now all the options inside the 3D menu are unavailable. I can see them but they aren't available for clicking.

Any thoughts about that?

That's an entirely different issue...  The software is looking for your Graphics Processor to deliver a certain level of functionality, and apparently it's not finding what it needs.

Check your Edit - Preferences - Performance dialog, and see if the [  ] Use Graphics Processor option is enabled.  If it can be but is not currently enabled, try checking it then restarting Photoshop.

If it can't be enabled, you may want to see if you can get an updated display driver from the web site of the maker of your video card in your computer.

Dear Noel,

I'm facing the same problem as of Matheus. I've been through every single step of troubleshooting which you've mentioned in this thread. I'm usuing Dell Studio 1558 Laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate platform 64-bit. It has an 8 GB of RAM and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 Graphics Card 1GB (with the latest drivers installed).

Though I'm using the Extended version only but I'm still unable to get that 3D option. I've tried uninstalling the CS6 couple of times. Even tried Creative Suite Cleaner and then re-installing it however, the problem persists.

Any help would be great.

First, go download and install the Photoshop updates - you're still on 13.0.0.

And you've got regular, not extended -- and the 3D features are only available in extended.

                        This is an Extended copy. Second my "Update" setting copy is greyed out. Something which is quiet astonishing is that earlier it was working just fine but all of as sudden it stopped working. I mean it just disappeared abruptly.

Hate to say it, but I cannot click anything on my 3D menu anymore. After i updated to my Photoshop via the Application Manager (both at work and home). I'm using Windows 8 (H) and Windows 7 (W). Everything worked fine until I updated. Are there any known issues involving the update? Are the required PC Specs different now?

The specs recently changed for Creative Cloud Phostoshop.

Version 13.1 and newer strictly require a minimum of 512 MB VRAM for the 3D features to be made available.

Kara - in your case it means that either you are running an OS that isn't capable (XP) or something about your video card says it is not capable of using the 3D features.

Check Help -> System Info for more information about your GPU/driver.

It says that the GPU sniffer crashed before it could get the identity of your video card.  That means there's a huge bug in your video card driver.   You probably need to update the driver (from the GPU maker's website).

Also, you have Photoshop 13.0.0 and should be on 13.0.1 or 13.1.2.

The driver is up to date according to who?  Did you get the latest from the GPU maker's website?  Or Microsoft (mistake)? or the card builder (another mistake)?  Or the system integrator (another mistake)?

According to INTEL where I clicked on the option automatically identify and find drivers:

It came up saying my driver is current (Intel® G33/G31)
