Community Beginner ,

Hello everyone !

i'm experiencing a weird issue with the 3D in photoshop. From a simple rectangle, as i select a "new extrusion from selected layer i get some really strange output (cf : image)

Any ideas why i got this strange output from such a simple manipulation. In fact, and regarding to youtube video about 3D in photoshop, i feel like my whole 3D workspace is corrupted

Any help is welcome !

Thank you !

Here's your explanation. I'm copying this from ACP @davescm who says it well:

"Adobe is updating the core graphics functions in Photoshop. This is driven by the operating systems of Apple and Microsoft in which the old Open GL functions are being removed in the case of Apple, or deprecated in the case of Microsoft. This means that the graphics functions that

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about this, would you mind telling us the version of Photoshop you're working with?
We're here to help, just need more info.

Please try updating the graphics drivers and let us know if it helps.

This means that the graphics functions that have worked for years must be rewritten to use Metal and Direct X. At the same time, Adobe is sensibly updating those core functions to deliver the additional speed we require to handle the very large files of today.

"Deactivate Native Canvas forces the GPU to use the older GPU functions. After any GPU driver update, which could be delivered via your operating system, or after updating Photoshop, uncheck it and try the new functions again.

"Note though that some older functionality in Photoshop, such as 3D and Lighting effects, still relies on the older Open GL graphics and so also need Deactivate Native Canvas to be checked ."

You're welcome, @Velasco5FA0 and I'm glad it's working for you now.

Thanks should really go to ACP @davescm  who wrote the detailed explanation I quoted, though. 😊
