Is that all the information Windows reliability history viewer show for the Problem where Photoshop stopped working?  There is not much to go on when the faulting module is Photoshop.exe. There no clue as to what caused Photoshop to hang. Did you  do something in Photoshop that you think  may have triggered the hang that you can think of.

There is basically no clue to go one when the report state Photoshop.exe stopped responding.  Photoshop may be waiting on something to compleate that will never happen.  Photoshop may be in a loop and  not responding  to system interrupt or system messages.  Does CS3 start then hang when you do some particular thing.  If so post what steps you dd the causes Photoshop CS3 to hang.  I have CS3 installed one my windows 10 Machine. I can not state I use it much. However CS3 does not seem to hang one my Windows 10 machine. I can test to see if what you do to hang CS3 on your machine will hang CS3 on my machine. However CS3 on my machine is the standard version the extended feature are disabled. So I can not test the extended features. CS3 version 10.0.1 is the version on my machine.

I'm surprised it actually works; CS3 was released in 2007 and was intended for Windows XP and OS X.

To the OP: Did CS3 work before? Or could you never get it running?

Are you running any anti-virus software? Try turning that off if you do.

Scroll down to the bottom, till you find Contact Us. You'll have to go through the virtual bot.

Whatever you do. Do not uninstall CS3 or deactivate it unless you downloaded  the Installer that install a CS3 version that does not require activation.   Your original CS3 install media install a version that need to be Activated which is no longer possible. Adobe stopped supporting CS3 years ago and retired their CS3 activation servers after making a CS3 version their old customers could download and install that does] not require activation. If you loose your Activation credentials that are hidden on you disk you will not be able to use your orignal installer to install CS3.  If you Activation credentials are intact  CS3 will install activated.

Adobe took that link down old user had to login in the page  supply thier old serial number to get a new one for the new download.  If you did not download it when Adobe made it Available you are out of luck.  CS3 Software is Past End of Life.  You should look at Photoshop Elements it should able to do most of what CS3 could and may have some improvement the are not in CS3.
