I don't usually atuo/frequently update my cc programs. I have a MacBook Pro, macOS 14.5 (23F79).
Recently, I noticed a weird occurance. I had adobe cc 2024 indesign, photoshop, illustrator, acrobat, bridge, Xd, Ae, Animate all installed and working fine earlier today (Today is July 1st, 2024.). At the time, I think my last update of these was in early/late May? But when I opened Adobe Creative Cloud, it said that all these apps needed to be "install"ed (not the usual "update"). ...Regretfully I should have googled this odd situation first...
And unfortunately I can't do a Cmmd Z to screenshot and explore how that was possible.
I have just "installed" all of these which has overwritten the older programs today. Right, so. My custom illustrator workspace seems to have carried over successfully. But the psd and the indd workspaces have been wiped. How is that possible? One worked and the others didn't? This isn't exactly a good experience at the moment.
Anyone know if/where my workspaces can be resurrected from? I might just duplicate the 'workspace' files in future - which, if I was that paranoid, I should have gotten onto already (ah well).
A link to another post or article is most welcome, because I may have missed it. Otherwise I'll just have to get it all going again from scratch. Thanks,

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Thanks kglad for the quick reply and kind guidance. Sorry for that; willco. I've now had a greater look in-depth.
Apologies for the repeat of any information below for those who already know.

On Macs, some files are hidden if you're trying to locate the library file path:

Unless I'm mistaken, it looks like Plugins don't migrate. So keep copies.

INDD's workstation preset file extension seems to be .xml - OK
But AI didn't have any extension."

"What did work was renaming the Workspaces folder on the MacBook "old" then copying the entire folder Workspaces from the USB into the Settings folder. I could then copy back into that new, copied Workspaces any of the "old" Workspaces that I wanted on the MacBook. Obviously, one needs to close Photoshop first and then reopen it."

Update on original issue: no idea why the adobe cc didn't recognise that the installed apps were installed. But it's difficult to do anything about it at this point. Will screenshot/grab in future.
