I downloaded the AI feature app into my toolbar and used it to edit a photo.

Upon logging out and back in over a day, I have lost that icon in the toolbar. Where can I find that tool?

Thanks for any help!

I have read on the "Illustrator" Forum about reseting to default. I do not have Illustrator. I am in PsCC.

Your referring to the Remove Tool and Generative Fill?

In the Tools panel click and hold on the various icons with the little sideways triangle to see other tools nested in the same slot.

You can also see some of the Regenerative Fill functions by having Window>Contextual Task Bar open.

Yes that is what I am referring to. But when I open Ps>Edit>ContAware and GenFill are not selectable.

Hi @DanPBPhoto you have to have a photo open and a selection made first.

Hi @DanPBPhoto have you tried to reset preferences? If so (and no change) Go to Photoshop Help Menu/System Info and copy/paste details in a reply. Post only once as the system takes time to process the large amount of data.

Ok my mistake. I used the Selection Tool to "outline the image and Gen Fill
opened.
I then received a box on what to fill. ???? Not sure I understand that
question.

Might there be an Adobe video on this new AI tool?
Truthful, I am lost!

Hi @DanPBPhoto you need to tell the Generative Fill what you want it to do with a prompt. Like "Change leaves to green" or something else.

I did find many videos. And there is always 1 or 2 questions missing. Here
is what I want to do:
1)put another image in the palm of a persons hand. The "other image" has to
be resized and inserted into the palm of the outstretched hand of the main
photo.
2) The tutorials never tell you where they got the object that is to be the
"GenFill: item.

When I 1st downloaded AI Tool, all went well. I never had the GenFill
response box and it eliminated what I wanted automatically.

So my next try was stated above...inserting an object into the outstretched
open palm of a man. Yes the inserted image has to be downsized alot to fit
in the palm. But I can't figure out how to get the 2nd image on the screen
using the GenFil tool box.

Hi @DanPBPhoto Generative Fill is being sourced by Adobe from their own stock images and creative commons images to create new computer generated images. It's not sourcing something specific from another image.

Example - if I tell the Gen Fill to add a screwdriver to this image, it creates an AI version of a tool sourced from multiple resources to make the new image:

When the Remove tool was first introduced, it was not showing in the Tool Bar for me.  I use custom Workspaces and Toolbars, which seems to have caused Photoshop to omit new tools leaving them stranded in the Edit ? Tool Bar panel.  It was a simple job to Use the Tool Bar edit feature to move the Remove tool to the Tool Bar proper, and resave the Workspace so that it didn't revert to not having the Remove tool the next time I reset the workspace.

Thanks for the info. It appears that I have the CC app and PsCC app conflicting with each other. The CC app opens in a totally different window and the "tools" are different in a few respects. When Iopen an image in PsCC "Select it" with the tool THEN I get the Generative Fill.

I think it is a matter of me spending time familiarizing myself with how each app works.

Thank you everyone for your input! At 76, things don't come as fast as when I was 60! LOL
