Airbrush Soft Grainy - not acting as expected

Hello everyone,

I am experiencing some difficulties using this brush called Airbrush Soft High Density Grainy, that i was able to get by downloading the Legacy brushes pack in Photoshop version 25.5.1.

I recently watched a video demo of this brush and the result wanted is much more different that what it actually does when I try it. It appears only as a grainy round flat stroke, not that 'gradient' texture fade i want to achieve. 

 

 

Also the stroke it creates on the canvas is way different that the stroke preview I see in the brush panel.

I am using a wacom Pen & Touch tablet. I tried messing with the settings a little, but nothing seems to work and fix it.

That's the Airbrush Soft High Density Grainy in Legacy>Default Brushes?

It is the exact same brush, that's correct. Sadly I can't provide a link, because it is a Domestika illustration course, it can only be purchased.

Could you please post screenshots taken at View > 100% with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Brush Settings, Options Bar, …) visible?

I'm getting the same as you. You can play with the settings but I doubt you can get it to work like the preview picture. Can you post a screenshot from the video where they are making it look like that?

How slanted are you holding the pen? 

What preview outline do you get when you hold the pen very flat?

Nothing changes, constant behaviour. I tried tilting the pen at different angles using different pressure. Here is a video of me doing it with this brush and another one as well...

You seem to be using the wrong Brush, that’s a sampled brush-tip, not an airbrush.

Here I first used a random brush to demonstrate that using different pressure creates a dynamic stroke. Then i switch to the airbrush and it does a 'flat' stroke only. I did it to test if the problem is in my tablet/pen, or in the brush.
