Am I able to update Photoshop 6.0 (2000) to a more recent version?

I was helping my dad clean out his study room when I found an old box with an installer for "Adobe Photoshop 6.0" (from 2000). I was able to use the disk and download Photoshop 6.0, but I was wondering if I could update to the latest version (or more recent than 17 years ago), and if so, how?

I already tried looking under the "help" tab in the program, however there was no "Update" button. I can't go onto the website to enter the serial number as it's only 13 characters long, and is alphanumeric (yes, I am 100% sure it is a serial number and not redemption code.)

Thanks for your help!

Photoshop CS6 is the buggest version of Photoshop ever released. You need the CS6 Updates installed. The current versions of perpetual CS6 are Version 13.0.6 Mac and version 13.0.1.3 Windows and  ACR should be ate version 9.1.1.  If CS6 Update does not work you will see that you are on version 13.0.  In that case uninstall CS6 use Adobe cleaner.  the install CS6  the use menu Help>Updates.  Hopefully  the will fix your install problem. Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

    I believe the OP is running a 17 year old version 6.0 (2000), not CS6 (2012).

No, there are no updates for version 6.0. The upgrade window closed around 2007 when CS3 was released.

What kind of computer are you successfully running version 6.0 on? Which operating system?

If Windows XP or earlier, that will not run any current versions of Photoshop.

    I'm currently using a Windows 10, 64x laptop.

Adobe has stopped selling perpetually licensed Photoshop. No more pay once, use forever software.

Your only option now is to join the Cloud and get a subscription to Photoshop CC 2017. The cheapest option is the Photography Plan at $10/month.

Alright, I may have to look into that. Thanks for your help!
