Are these colored foam boards or are these white foam boards edited in PS?

I want to replicate photos similar to these ones: https://www.thingtesting.com/brands

In the background of these photos, it looks like a foam board has been used. I wonder:

- Do you think this is natural day sung light or is this in a dark room with lights?

- Are the background boards colored in reality or has there been som PS magic to edit the same board into different colors?

It looks like these were white Foam boards.  The images were processed normallt then the subject was outlined and placed on a layer above the background.  Then the background was adjusted to match the color.  This can be done in ACR easily or using curves or levels.

Could you explain a little more detailed on how you think this was done? Am trying to replicate it my self.

With ACR do you mean Adobe Camera Raw?

Hi Fred,

After looking at the pictures, I believe they are made by mixing up real photography with some processing in Photoshop, the objects are placed in front of background boards and there are some studio lights used to lighten up the subject.

You can use white foam boards, as their color can be changed in post processing in Photoshop. But I would recommend using colored backgrounds because real always looks better. Then you can touch up the highlights and shadows during post processing sessions.

It looks like these were white Foam boards.  The images were processed normally then the subject (Use Select / Subject/ inverse) was outlined and placed on a layer above the background.  Then the background was adjusted to match the color ypu like.  This can be done in ACR easily or using curves or levels.

Just give it a try and you can easily match these reference images
