best Size for designing logos !

Hello , What is the Best size (width , height ) for logos!

Large you define large its the largest size you you will need to have your logo.  Things scale down in size better than they do up in size. If possible  the best would be to use vector graphics creating your Logo. Text, Shapes, Paths etc.  If one color create a custom shape.
