Black page, can't create new file

I bought a new Macbook Pro and I downloaded the latest Photoshop. When I open Photoshop, it just takes me to a black page. When I click File > New or Open, nothing happens. When I go to an image on my desktop, and right click to open in Photoshop, it will open up, but I can't even Save as. I've tried everything that I've read in these forums, and nothing is working.

That does work to create a new document, but then I can't Save As. Also, with that option, File > Open still doesn't work.

Yes I've already done that. I can now create a new document, but I still can't Save As. Also, File > Open still doesn't work.
