Blend issue between old and new versions

In earlier version, there is different result between layer blend mode and group blend mode. In most cases, I chose group blend mode .

But in new version, there is no difference, and the blend result is no more shining feeling like before, so sad...

Has anyone noticed this issue? And is there any solution?

The only bug I remember is one which came up in CC2017 using 16 bit mode where the Linear Dodge (Add) blend mode acted differently when applied to a group as it did to the layer within the group (and the group set to pass through). This issue was subsequently fixed

I know the issue you mentioned, but this one is different and is very covert.

If you don't believe me, you can do a test like mine, or you can just open this PSD with CC2014 to see the difference, and if open it with the version newer than 2014, you'll see there is no different.

And the ADD blending result in newer version is also different with other image software, such as AE, FLASH, etc.

Frankly, there shouldn't be a difference between blending a single layer and blending one in a group. The earlier versions that did this was most likely a bug that they finally fixed.
