I need to figure out how to have control over my brushes. I am confusion about presets and brushes. I searched for videos and they seam to be for older versions.
I am missing key information about "presets"
I have attached a jpg that asks questions. The brushes that are flat size 28 I like to cycle through them with < > shortcuts and I dont want them to have spacing and I can not change the spacing permanently.
Presets and brushes are something that I just dont get yet.
when I set the spacing for these brushes they dont stay, the presets take over yet the presets dont give me any option here to change them. This baffles me. Why cant I find a way to change the spacing permanently ? It seams it would be in the preset manager and I could right click on the preset and change it ??? I have never understood this.

Anyone recommend a book that has a useful index and a glossary for Photoshop 2016 - that also comes with a PDF ?

Hi!
Here is a support article that explains "presets" and will give you some foundation for Brush presets. They are really powerful and it will serve you well to take some time to read through it.
Also notice at the top of the page (see image below) that you can click on Photoshop User Guide to get to some really helpful info about Photoshop. And if you want to drill down even further, click on the Select an article drop down menu for some really good stuff!
