Hello,
I previously submitted a bug report here and received a suggested solution. However, the same issue has continued to occur repeatedly. Even after renaming the “24” folder to “old” and reverting it back several times, the bug has persisted and keeps reoccurring.
At this point, even modifying the folder no longer resolves the issue.
For reference, this is the post I followed:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-bugs/photoshop-tool-icons-are-missing/idi-p/13895...
Is it possible that this issue persists because I am running Windows 10 Pro?
I followed the instructions exactly as described, but the same bug continues to reoccur and the problem remains unresolved.
While reinstalling the software temporarily resolves the issue, the bug reappears shortly after, forcing me to repeat the reinstallation process. Each time, I have to reconfigure all my plugins, brushes, and settings, which is extremely time-consuming and inconvenient.
If it were only a matter of the icons disappearing, I could still manage to continue working. However, whenever this issue occurs, more critical problems arise: for example, the color picker fails to change colors, or after using the eraser tool, switching back to the brush still leaves it stuck as an eraser. In these cases, certain tools and shortcuts become entirely unresponsive, which makes it very difficult to continue my work.
Could you please confirm if Adobe is planning to release an official bug fix update for this issue?
If anyone is aware of an alternative solution other than the one mentioned in the linked post, I would be truly grateful for your assistance.
thx

Hi!
We are sorry to hear that this problem is persisting! It definitely looks like a bug from everyone's comments that I read in the previous post. Do you have the previous version of Photoshop installed on your machine? One of the comments said that they had rolled back to 24.5 and the problem stopped. Is that something you can do to keep working while this issue is getting attention?
I realize this is not the answer you are looking for, but at least you would be able to keep working and not have to reinstall and deal with updating all of your brushes, presets, etc.
Let us know if that is an option!
Michelle
