I print contact sheets in photoshop from a folder in bridge. The file name is printed under each image on the sheet. I would like to supress the .jpg also being printed. I have tried using image files that do not have the .jpg attached in the name but it just reappears on the sheet. It would be great if there was a checkbox that would prevent these being printed. Is there an easy way around this or can a checkbox be added?

I'm posting from my phone so I'm not sure of the features... But another option is ContactSheetX from xbytor:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/ps-scripts/files/ContactSheetX/v2.2/
Edit: I am now in front of a computer, here it is in a different format than shown by Jeff:
You should be able to install the CSX-2_2 contact sheet manually by using the files in the CSX-2_2.zip
or using Anastasiy’s Extension Manager to install using the CSX-2_2.zxp.
https://install.anastasiy.com/
Also, Bridge has a Contact Sheet under Window>Workspace>Output

Unless you are familiar with JavaScript I see no realistic option how you would be able to edit the Script efficiently.
Have you opened »ContactSheetII.jsx« yet?
Why does the suffix bother you?
When creating the Contact Sheets do you maintain the Type Layers? If so you could use Edit > Find and Replace Text to remove the suffices.
Have you considered using Indesign to create the Contact Sheets?

I have a project coming soon. The suffices just look awkward. I will try the find and replace option. There will be about 250 to alter.
I had thought that I could just overlay an opaque patch but that would be onerous…
I had and liked InDesign but the continued upgrade of the MAC OS and the pricing policies of Adodie prevented me from continually upgrading.
Thanks

I have downloaded but it tells me that it needs to be upgraded for MAC 12.3.1
The scripting stuff looks scarey…
I filled in the form asking for an upgrade
