Can I delete older versions of Photoshop

Hi,

I am running into a space issue on my laptop. It is causing PS to not run properly or even stay open, I cannot update the software on my computer, or update some of my Adobe apps. Is it possible to delete older versions without losing anything? I haven't added my own tools etc. to PS. I attached a photo of the apps that are taking up the most space on my computer but I am afraid to delete them without asking first. This isn't my area of expertise. 🙂

Absolutely.  Especially when you have a full CC subscription.  The only reason to have older versions still installed is if you have issues with the current version, but it is super easy to reinstall old versions going a dozen or so upgrade versions back.

While you can delete the old versions, you can typically only install one version back without reaching out to support, so if you need something from a particular version keep that in mind.

Also, if PS is not running properly or staying open, the HDD space may only be part of what is causing your issue. As each new update is released there are new requirements and running a newer version may stretch the resources of your existing computer. So I would keep in mind the system requirements before you delete older versions too and in some cases you may be better off deleting the newer version if your older computer is being streteched too thin by the newer release.

Thanks for your reply. I have an older MacPro from 2016 with only 64GB. So it is an issue with always cleaning up space. The apps are what are taking up most of the space, which is shown in the photo in my original post. That is why I was wondering if I could delete older versions. I am not sure if I need anything in those older versions or not, to be honest with you. I am still fairly new to using PS even though it has been a part of the subscription I have for a while now. And the space issue is making it hard to use and learn to use it to its fullest without it closing on me. Again, I appreciate your reply! In the meantime, I did order a new laptop since I want to get into video as well and this trusty old thing isn't going to keep up with that I assume if I can't even edit and make gifs in PS. 🙂 I will have to figure something out while I wait for the new one as I do have client work to complete and deliver.
