I am considering moving all my image files to the local folder that the Microsoft OneDrive cloud storage service creates locally on my Desktop. That way, all the image files would be available on my other computers, specifically my laptop. I have to say clarify that I would never access these image files simultaneously from more than one computer at a time, so there wouldn´ be any concurrency issues.
I cannot find an authoritative answer to the question about wether Photoshop would have a problem with this setup. Does anybody know?
The same question applies to Lightroom. Would Lightroom have a problem with the image and/or database files, if they were all were placed on the local OneDrive folder?
Thanks.
They could use an update to that document to specifically address this, but in talking with them their stance is a cautious one. I would treat the local OneDrive synced folder as a remote network folder. I would save to the desktop then drag over, or at least disable syncing until you are finished working then reestablish the link.
Your concern about concurrency is a valid one.

This document should explain it all:
Troubleshoot issues with networks, removable media in Photoshop
Adobe as a rule does not recommend working off remote or removable drives.
Work locally then copy to your OneDrive.

Thanks. But it only partially addresses the issue. I do know that Adobe recommends working fom the "local hard disk" only. But OneDrive creates a local folder on the "local hard disk", so under the recommendations in this document, it should work, even though this particular setup is not addressed in it. The issue that is not addressed anywhere, inlcuding this document, is if Adobe approves of Photoshop and/or Lightroom working off data files stored locally, on the local hard drive, but on a local folder that gets automatically synched to a cloud storage service, when there are assurances that there won´t be any concurrency issues from working off more than one computer at a time. That is, data files would only be accessed by one computer at a time.
