can not change aspect ratio

Aspect ratio is wrong and nothing I do will change the ratio.  All images are distorted.

Go to menu View > Pixel Aspect Ratio and check  "Square" .

You can crop to the Aspect ratio or  you can distort the the aspect ratio.   Adobe's Content  Aware Scale with help you when your choose to distort the image. The Aspect Ratio of recognize object  will be maintains as much as possible to maintain their current perspective.    However, if the Aspect Ratio change is great the image will not be great if you use distortion and will not be great if you crop. There will be too much distortion or too much image content lost.
