Can’t open photos in Photoshop or lightroom after update to Monterey on macOS.

I recently updated from High Sierra to Monterey on my macOS. I have Photoshop 2020 and lightroom. When attempting to open a photo in Photoshop or lightroom from Photos I get a message saying "error while preparing external edit. PH Photos error domain error 3306." Can anyone tell me if there is a fix for this?  Currently I am backing up all my photos to a WD 4TB storage device and after speaking to someone from Apple they suggested checking with Adobe for fixes. Thus far I haven't seen any info on this problem.  If there are no fixes my plan is to revert back to Mojave as suggested by Apple support. Any wisdom on this plan would be appreciated! Thank you!

In System Preferences, >Security & Privacy, >Full Disk Access, do you see  Photoshop and LR listed? If not, do add it and try again.

A cursory web search didn't find much but this one: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250999135 (It's a similar error but with a different error number with someone trying to do something similar from Photos. It was fixed by booting into Recovery mode and then back to Normal mode.)
