Cannot print with PS CC2017 and mac Sierra

Error message:  There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents.

I started having problems printing in PS with my mac after upgrading to Sierra. PS would crash every time I tried printing. I saw that many others had the same problem and figured Adobe or Apple would issue a patch that would fix it and just switched to printing with Lightroom. Along came CC 2017 and I figured all would be well....NOT. I now get the above error whenever I try to print.

I've followed all the steps I can find. Uninstalled and reinstalled printers. Reset printing system and deleted drivers. installed printers as new.

no love...

I'm pretty upset with Adobe. They have had 6 months with Sierra beta to get it right. Every other app has it right and I was able to print just fine with all but Photoshop, the most expensive of the lot. Adobe sold us this stupid subscription and auto updates as part of it and that's now the LAST thing I want. Well, I'm going to download a few of the other trial editor apps and maybe one of them will let me quit my subscription - this is plain unacceptable and completely bush league for the company that used to be the best of breed.

I'm disgusted with Adobe at this point. If any users can help, I'd be most appreciative...

Thanks Gener7

I got past the crash stage by sitting it out till 2017 was released. I no longer crash but I get that error message : There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents.

Photoshop is still running and operable but it will not print on either of the 2 epson printers at this location (I have others at home that also crashed a couple of weeks ago before 2017). I've followed all the apple suggesti

Photoshop is still running and operable but it will not print on either of the 2 epson printers at this location (I have others at home that also crashed a couple of weeks ago before 2017). I've followed all the apple suggestions of deleting and reinstalling in your link - not any different after deleting and recreating.

I can print in every other app - including Lightroom (or I would be totally screwed over).

I get furious when I see things like one of the replies in your link that Apple sent adobe copies of Sierra 8 months ago and they did not test them - more interesting in new useless features, I guess, to allow them to advertise more and sell more subscriptions...this is turning into a terrible sore on the adobe shield!

Maybe I'm in a small group - I must be or there would be a revolution against adobe. I looked at Capture One several years ago and passed but I'm going to have to look again and more seriously this time.

thanks for your input

I have a MBP 2012 model running El Capitan and it works fine on my wireless Brother Printer. I've been very hesitant to move on to Sierra given the complaints and I would never advise it for mission critical work or if it's your only workstation.

You can join the conversation there and see if Jeff found out anything.

I have exactly the same problem. Started last night after the most recent OS Seirra update. Prior to that my brand new Canon IP 8750 was functioning OK. I too can print from other apps. I thought it might be just a Canon problem but it seems to be with several printer types.

Gary-

Call Adobe support. It had me on hold for only a few minutes and they can walk you through the fix. Basically removing all preferences but they will move ones you want restored to your desktop and then put them back..totally painless and everything works fine.

Thanks Tom, I'll give them a call probably after the Christmas break.
