Cant open psd file on photoshop

so i open a psd file in photoshop and it dosent work. I dont really know what to say for this can anyone help me?

It might actually be a different kind of file, and it just had the wrong extension:

Sorry that you cannot open .PSD files in Photoshop. We're here to help.

Which version of macOS are you using? Do you see this error with all files or particular files?

When was the last time you worked on this file? Can you open it in another image viewer? Can you please check if the name and extension for the file are correct or not?

This can occur when you save a different file type, for example, a JPEG, with a .psb extension in the file name (work. psb).

You need to rename the file so that the file name extension matches the correct file type. (work.jpg)

Indeed, Zip this document then upload to something like Dropbox or similar so other's can check it out and see what's going on.

It looks like someone took a file that wasn't a PSD and changed the extention without actually changing the file in an app like Photoshop.  I can't be for sure, unless I see the original file

i cant upload it in zipped form. and the link you sent me only shows the method to determine file type on mac
