Just wondering if anyone has had success in building panel extensions for CEP5 0 Im getting an error
cannot complete command because the extension could not be loaded
which is next to impossible to debug
just wondering if anyone might have any ideas

I would suggest starting off an existing example panel that certainly does work. See, for example, Samples/CEP_HTML_Test_Extension_5.0 at master · Adobe-CEP/Samples · GitHub
Your issue may also has something to do with the signing process - make sure your extension can be properly installed via ExMan. There were a few posts earlier this year in this forum about common signing issues, certificates etc.
