Clone tool problem @ 100%

Suddenly this week my clone tool is not cloning at 100% - I use it every day and today, set at 100% I get a partial clone with a pale version of what I'm cloning.

Try resetting the tools and/or preferences.

Not sure how to do that … I see how to reset all tools, but I’d rather not do that and it doesn’t give me the option to reset just the clone tool unless I’m missing something.

And preferences … what would I look for

A few things to check In the options bar:

1. Brush hardness settings
2. Brush mode - is it normal?

3. You mention opacity is 100% - is flow also 100%?

thanks, Dave - those are all my settings - hardness is at the bottom, opacity 100, flow 100 - grrrr. I’ve also tried to see if changing layers fixes it and it doesn’t .. this never happened before.

Now that you’ve mentioned changing layers, check your layer opacity in the Layers panel. Maybe it’s okay, but it’s another thing that could do what you described.
