Color Picker just stopped working - always white

Community Beginner ,

Was working fine this morning, I have no idea what I could have done to create this problem? Now when I mouse over my image, the color picker does change to an eyedropper, but no matter what part of the image I click on it shows white? #ffffff

The L: changes to 100, the a: changes to 0 and the b: changes to 0. It shows #ffffff no matter what. I can click on my desktop background and it changes to black. Other than that i can pick no other color but white? Anyone know what's happening? I'm trying to remove the yellowish/beigish hue from the pictures. The walls, curtains and couch were actually white.

You have your mask selected. It's picking from the white mask.

Click on the camera icon of the photo filter so the mask isn't selected.

How would I deselect the mask? If I click back onto the background layer, (layer 0) then I don't have the photo filter available to me? Help! This was working yesterday according to the instructions and then it stopped.

sorry i hit enter too quick. I am on the Photo Filter adjustment layer. As per the instructions, you open a new adjustment layer, then choose photo filter.

This happened to me as well but this must be outdated. I finally figured out that I needed to go to my channels tab & get rid of the quick mask from there. Just thought I would share this for anyone else. It's 5 yrs since the original post was answered.

Good Luck
