Colour picker

hi,trying to fill a shape that i have drawn in ps with a solid colour using the colour picker but the only colour i can select is black ,everything else is grey..

Check your color mode, looks like your working in grayscale

Hi,

Please make sure your document's color mode must be RGB or CMYK.

I think you have selected your doc's color mode Greyscale.

...but regardless of all that, the OP has the mask targeted. A mask can only be grayscale, and that's what you get in the color picker.
