Question

Computer shuts down and restarts when I try to download neural filters

I've recently updated PS to 2021 version. When I attempt to download a (neural, colorize) filter through the desktop app, the download finishes the power cuts and machine restarts everytime.

I have read it's more than likely a hardware than a software issue: ram, driver etc.

Can anyone shed any light?

Hi

Can you post your Photoshop system info, in Photoshop go to Help > System Info, hit the copy button and paste the entire thing into this thread

Was trying to fix earlier and changed GPU

This is what that should read:

OpenGL Drawing: Enabled.
OpenGL Allow Old GPUs: Not Detected.
OpenGL Drawing Mode: Advanced
OpenGL Allow Normal Mode: True.
OpenGL Allow Advanced Mode: True.

You could try updating the GPU driver, your's shows driver date of glgpu[0].GLDriverDate=20200129

Also when downloading the driver choose the Studio version and during the install go to the advanced options, select custom install and choose perform clean install

If that doesn't help try resetting your Photoshop preferences

Also can you check the Windows event viewer in the application log for errors relating to Photoshop.exe

Hi Ged,

Thank you so much for helping out with this - done all three. GPU has been updated to lastest studio driver, reset preferences etc. but it still shuts down at the same point.

The event log says the error is: Group Policy Drive Maps 8198 The user 'I:' preference item in the 'Windows (All) {25579B3D-EAC3-42A5-81AA-08EB3D7F8C12}' Group Policy Object was not removed because it failed with error code '' See trace file for more details.

Do you know what can be done about this?
