Can I permanently turn off Content Credentials? Does this automatically turn on when I use Generative Fill?

From https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/generative-fill.html:

  • "...Photoshop will automatically append Content Credentials to images generated using Generative Fill and Generative Expand and exported as PNG, JPG, or "Save as", to let you and others know an image was created or edited in Photoshop using Firefly's generative AI technology."

First off I don't use Firefly, only photoshop and Lightroom. I'd like someone to explain to me why when I edit my own photographs in Photoshop I get these stupid c2paws files. They are my own photographs, I know I've edit them! Every now and then I have to go through my various directories and delete them. This is a pain in the butt and I don't need Adobe telling me when I have edit a photo, thank you very much.

Please show screenshots of where you find these files.

It would have been better if you started your own thread, instead of tagging onto an unrelated one.

I posted to this discussion because it was mine on this subject. The screenshot is from a directory where I save processed Photoshop 2024 files.
