Every time I open up Photoshop (v24.7.0), the Contextual Task Bar is in the middle -- kinda like how someone stands in front of you when you're trying to watch TV. Any option to pin it at the location you say you want it to be ONE TIME and it's always there like a preference setting?
Yes in the newest Photoshop 2024 (ps ver 25.5) you can pin the Contextual Task Bar by clicking the three small dots on the Contextual Task bar and clicking Pin Bar Postion.

You can use the options button on the far right to pin the Contextual Task Bar for the current session. If you close it, you can find it at the bottom of the Window menu. It can't be pinned permanently (yet).

It would be so much nicer to have the Pinned option as the default. The thing is always in the way as it is.

yet? It's been six months and it's still very much in the way, such that I just turn it off. It should be able to be pinned like every other tool in Photoshop.

Has anyone been able to pin the contextual task bar in InDesign yet? I try pinning it to get it out of the way, because it is always on my working document and in the way, and the next time I click on an object it's back where it was... in the way!

Have you asked in the InDesign forum?

THis would be SUCH a useful tool if it would STOP MOVING AROUND, it simply will NOT stay pinned, it's always jumping on TOP of the menu bar. I love it in theory but MAN is this thing frustrating, MAKE THE PINNING WORK PEOPLE

Hi @default2gxdi3dpg4tp Thank you for reaching out! We apologize for the inconvenience you're facing with the contextual bar. Since this thread is a bit old, it might be best to start a new one with all the details of your issue. That way, your comments won't get lost, and you'll get the help you need more quickly.
In the new thread Could you please help us with more information about the issue like what's the application and the OS version you’re working with? When does the tool move on you? This would help us narrow down the issue. Additionally, a screen recording of your workflow and the problem that occurs would be incredibly helpful. You can share via Google Drive, WeTransfer, or another public file-sharing platform with your response.
Thanks a bunch!
