Hi,
My boss has asked me to convert a large number of multiple-page pdfs into multiple-page jpgs. I have been able to convert the pdfs to jpgs in photo shop using image processor, but the processor only captures the first page of the multiple page documents and when I have been able to convert an entire pdf to jpeg, it creates individual jpg files for each separate page.
How can I convert the multiple-page pdf file to a single multiple-page jpg file?
many thanks!

Put all the jpgs in a single layered file. Use the Layer Comps function to set up and view the "paging sequence" Of course, this can only be used within Photoshop.

thanks for your help! to clarify would step 1) be to image process all of the files and turn them into individual jpg files and then step 2) would be to put each single jpg page into a single layered file and then 3) save as?
How might I put all the jpgs into a single layered file? (i'm super new at all of this)
thank you!

You have the right idea.
1.Make each page a jpg file. Pretend they are named Page 1, Page 2, etc.
2. Create a new file with a page size and res of your jpg files. Let's call this the Master file.
3, With the Master file appearing on your monitor:
4. Open Page 1. Click on it in the Layers Panel and drag it over the Master. It will become Layer 1 in the Master.
5..Repeat Step 4 until you have all the pages, as separate layers in the Master. (Layers 2, 3, etc,)
6. Save the Master file. It will be a psd file.
Check Google and learn how to create and use Photoshop Layer Comps. Trust me. It is not difficult.
Once completed, each time you strike the Forward symbol in the Layer Comps panel you will display the next page.
Yes, you can go Backward to see previous pages as you view them. too.

I neglected to mention that once you have dragged a Page file in to the Master (actually it is an exact copy that becomes a layer in the Master), you may close that Page File. That way you won't clutter your monitor with many open files. And, if you have a large numbers of pages, it would be prudent to create a several Masters, i.e Master 1 holds pages 1-X, Master 2 holds pages X to Y.

What's the point in viewing this inside Photoshop using Layer Comps ? I think the op misunderstood or the boss wasn't specific on the request, there's no such thing as multi page jpg. You can just export all the pages as individual jpgs and then navigate from one to another using the image viewer on your system.

Perhaps a simple Bridge slide presentation would do the job, as well. What I read into the inquiry was a Layer Comp solution because of the final sentence in the inquiry: "How can I convert the multiple-page pdf file to a single multiple-page jpg file?".

I agree with above comments. There does not appear to be such a thing as a multipage jpeg. For my own task, I needed to edit a two page pdf. The task was to remove items from each page and put the pages back together. To accomplish this task, I used Apple’s Preview application and an application called Paintbrush.
First duplicate the pdf and work with the copy. Open the pdf in Preview. Export the contents of the pdf as a jpeg. The result is a jpeg version of first page of the pdf. In Preview, change the order of the pages of the pdf by using thumbnails view. Exporting the contents of the pdf as a jpeg now will result in a jpeg version of second page of pdf.
Use Paintbrush to open each jpeg. In Paintbrush it’s easy to remove something from the page by using the rectangle tool (draw rectangle around item and hit delete). Save the changes to each jpeg.
Use Preview to open each edited jpeg and export each one as a one page pdf. Use Preview to merge the two one-page pdfs into a single two-page document.
