Hello
I am trying to follow this basic instructions on how to make an image mask in Photoshop. The instruction can be found here.
As you can see of this image, there are spesific instructions. But I am not able to figure out this step marked in blue. I am good so far, but here I strugle. How do I copy the layer content to the clipboard. Only think I can see is to dublicate layer or copy CSS or SVG:
If anybody can help me, I would really appreciate it. I suspect the instructions are old, but ive searched the communito and google, and cant find any way possible to complete instructions.
If anybody can help, I will make a tutorial video for it.
There is something on the Original layer, but I can't tell what it is.

You can make a layer mask from the selection either by clicking on the 3rd button from the left at the bottom of the Layers panel or by going to Layer > Layer Mask and selecting from one of the Layer Mask options.

Adding to what Myra said, when the instructions say "Go to Layer Original" and "Go to Layer Black", it means to click on the layer with that name to target it.
I'm seeing the name of the panel is in all caps, meaning the tutorial is using a very old version of Photoshop. I'm not sure, but maybe CS5? You may find that some things have changed if you are using a current version.

Hello
Ok. Thank you. The difficult part is the "Goto layer Original, select all and copy the layer content to the clipboard.". I dont see any posibility to copy layer content from original.

Also: I found "What's New" tutorials for CS5 and CS6 and it was CS5 that had all caps in the panels as I thought. We raised a fuss and Adobe went back to proper case in CS6. Photoshop CS5 was released in 2010 and many things have changed since then. So far, though, you are good!

Just for the sake of completeness, as an alternative, it's also possible to use the Apply Image command to "stamp" a chosen source to a destination, bypassing the clipboard.
