Copying Layer - Ctrl J not working

Explorer ,
Nov 20, 2018 Nov 20, 2018

I recently downloaded the latest versions of Lightroom and Photoshop from Creative Cloud.

When I edit in Photoshop from Lightroom, I am unable to get Ctrl J (copy layer) to work. This was not an issue with the previous releases.

If I enter Photoshop directly (not going through Lightroom) Ctrl J works without a problem.

I would appreciate your help in resolving the issue.

There us a bug with opening image from Lightroom. Open them directly in PS, until they get this fixed.

I'm having a similar problem. Nearly all my drop down menus are greyed out when I open an image from LR into PS. But when I open the image directly into PS it is ok.

This is really annoying because I start my workflow in LR. Any ideas when this might be fixed?

No idea when, but u would imagine soon, as it's a pretty big bug to a lot of people's workflow.

Hi

You can use this workaround from here

Bug - Image and Layer options are greyed out if and only if Photoshop CC 2019 is launched from Light...

1. open Lightroom CC Classic,

2. open Photoshop CC 2019,

3. Select any images, and right click then select 'Edit in Adobe Photoshop CC 2019'

4. once the image is opened in Photoshop, the options under Image and Layers are now available.

Or roll back to version 20.0.0
