Hello,
I've been working all day on a PSD file, but my computer suddenly crashed. When it booted back up, I tried opening the file again and I keep getting an error that says:
"Could not complete your request because the disk is not available."
I can open other files on the same folder/disk just fine, just not this one. Is there a way I can repair this file?

I'm having the same problem. Nothing suggested here has resolved the issue.

I'm having the same issue. I'm trying to open a poster I made last night, but another poster I was working on at the same time is fine. I tried Shift+alt, but I didn't have any luck.

I've had exactly the same problem several times over the past few months. I've never been able to find a pattern to it, but a reboot USUALLY fixes it (but then I have the tedious job of remounting all my virtual drives!)

If you double-click the file on that external drive, what happens?

If the disk isn't available, how are you getting to the external drive?

The error shows up only in photoshop once i opens up and tries to display the psd. Photoshop is installed in the main SSD with Win10. I think the error is mispelled, its not showing the actual problem

During Opening the file OF PSD This error is showing Could not complete your request because the disk is not available.

So you are in the folder and double-click the file and it says the disk is not available? This makes no sense. Try doing this while Photoshop is not running so there is it has to be launched.

Hi Everyone! I figured out the problem
The file was originally meant for Google Earth -_- . Once I downloaded the Google Earth app, I didn't need to open it up in Photoshop anymore. It amazing what can ahppen when you have the right tools (program) for the job.

I thought that my PSD being in my OneDrive might have been the cause of getting the same "disk is not available" error.
I too couldn't copy or anything in order to get it open.
The file being on my OneDrive ended up being my solution. I donwloaded the PSD from the web interface of OneDrive and that fixed the documents issue for me.
Yay!

I have the same issue here. It was a basic file (image > remove background) file saved as "PSD" it says adobe photoshop image 25.. the file is saved on onedrive. I have moved it to my desktop and it still gives the same error. I also created a new file with another image in the same folder and that opens perfectly.. exact same type just different product image.
- my pc has not crashed
- I tried opening in other apps it still dosnt work
however recently when i opened PS it opend the beta version..

Experiencing the same issue. I was trying to open a file with a .int extension and it produced the error in question. I was able to get around the issue by downloading and installing Gimp which is free open source image editing software. Gimp can open the file and then I exported from Gimp to a .tga file. Photoshop was then able to open the .tga file.
