Is it possible when adding an anchor point to a path that it would NOT be a curve point with twho handles? 95% of the time I just need a single corner point and to select the Convert Point Tool (without a shortcut) adds extra steps to the workflow.
Is there a preference to change so new points are just basic point?
Thanks.
As far as I know it needs to be a click of the pen (with auto add/del checked in options) followed immediately by an Alt+Click to convert it

You can use Curvature Tool instead Pen Tool. One click add basic point , 2 clicks adds corner point. If you want to convert it just double click again.

Thanks. That's quicker, but still would prefer a preference to create all as corner points by default. Is this possible?

You could make a feature request. A checkbox in the option bar for the pen tool might be more accesible than a preference

I would love to see this as an option (checkbox in options bar)! This is one of three differences between using the Pen tool in Illustrator and Photoshop. Illustrator makes a corner point when an anchor point is added.

I found out that once you've added an anchor point to an existing shape, the curvature points will show. When you click on these one by one, and hold down the shift key, you can move them arround in straigt lines. This makes it easier to add a straight corner to your existing shape. Hope this helps 🙂

I agree, being able to just create a point would be fantastic.

Very cool! Is this new functionality of the curvature tool or has it been there all along? Thanks.

It is main functionality of this tool as it has been added.
