Creating an ACTION using EXPORT and it will not work. Why?

I have used Actions to create autoatic Exports (to jpg) for Years.  Now with these new versions, it will not work.  This is unacceptble.  Anyone know what is going on?

Since the "new" Export As & Quick Export features were introduced, they have not been recordable in an action.

 

The Export > Save For Web (Legacy) option has always been recordable in an action and continues to record in actions since the introduction of the new Export features.

    Is there some notable difference in format I should be mindful of when "saving for web"? 

     

    In other words - what's the difference ?

    In general, I expect to have to audit my actions when upgrading to a newer version. Menus and methods change with newer versions which can "break" your action.

     

    What version were you previously running that it did work in?

    I appreciate all the reactions everyone.  I was using CS5 - about 10 years old.  I don't believe I can import existing Actions in that version into the newer versions. So I am rebuilding all of them.  I tried with Photoshop 20.0.8, and the newest version 21.02.  

     

    I turn on the Record button, go to File / Export / Export As... / JPEG 100%.  Boom.  The document I am working with at the time goes ahead and exports but nothing whatsoever gets recorded as an Action.

    Maybe you could explain what isn't working? I have a number of actions that save to JPEG and they work great.
