CS3 & CS5.5-CS6 upgrade activation problem:

I bought years ago Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium.

In later years the Dreamweaver CS5.5 and later CS6.

As well as several hundreds of dollars on Project Seven Development tools.

Last week my harddrive died and I was forced to re-install.

It seems that one can no longer activate CS3, which stops me from being able to install even the CS5.5 or CS6. Not to mention losing Photoshop compleatly.

Question: is there no way to at least activate my Dreamweaver CS6 ? Of all the tools in the suite this is the most important (other than photoshop) but as it is a type of "addon" to the CS3 I,m totaly stuck 😞

I'm not sure CS3 ever qualified for a CS6 upgrade. Maybe CS5. I think it was a two- or three-version upgrade window. In that case the installer would just ask for the qualifying serial number, it didn't need to be installed.

HOWEVER: A suite containg a certain application, was not the same product as that application as a single standalone application. Serial numbers were strictly separate for those two product categories.

In short: if your Dreamweaver was purchased as an upgrade, you cannot use the serial number for a CS3 suite. You'd need a CS3 Dreamweaver standalone license.

Suites could be upgraded to suites, applications upgraded to applications.

Oh, BTW: CS3 and CS4 activation servers have been shut down. They cannot be activated anymore. But hypothetically, I think the serial numbers should still be accepted.

You probably should post this in the Photoshop forum.
