Question

ctrl-z reverts my work back to hours ago, nothing left in working history panel [24.5.0]

I've just got the latest update (photoshop 24.5) a few days ago on windows 10, and today when I'm working on a project, I tried to undo a couple of steps, with ctrl-z, and suddenly (probobally two or three times holding on ctrl and hit on Z), it all reverts back to half an hour ago state.

all the work is gone, and there's nothing left in the history panel, shift-ctrl-z does nothing.

I tried to redo the lost work all again, and later on the same thing happened. still after a few times of ctrl-Z, it again went back to the same point.

The worst bug I've ever had with photoshop. Please fix this ASAP.

Hi @Xingqi29506591eilo

I added 24.5 to your subject and am tagging employee @CShubert . Today is a federal holiday in the US. Here is a link to the primary thread from 24.1:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-bugs/p-undo-history-is-not-functioning-as-it-should-photoshop-v24-1/idi-p/13427210

The workaround then was to roll back to an earlier version.

Hi Jane

Thank you for your reply.

I've double checked that I'm running Photoshop ver 24.5.0. The same version with the brand new gradient tool and a new floating tool bar.

Plus I haven't encountered such problem with earlier versions.
