Cursor freezing on brush

Hi all,

When working on documents, my cursor regularly freezes; I can move the cursor, but am unable to click on anything in Photoshop. I can't even close the document/program. The only way I can fix it is to manually close Photoshop is Task Manager, but this usually results in me losing work progress. 

I notice the problem most frequently when I change the brush shape/size/colour, causing the cursor to freeze when I try to make a stroke, and the cursor is then stuck in brush mode, and I can't click, change tools, save, close etc. 

This is using a pressure-sensitive pen on a 2-in-1 HP Envy laptop, Photoshop version currently 21.0.3. I've had Photoshop and Windows uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and the problem persists. 

Any advice/fixes much appreciated as it's very irritating and I constantly lose work. Thank you!

I have also had this problem trying to switch between tools.  It'll just get stuck on the brush tool.  This is honestly the worst version of Photoshop I have ever used.  I bought a completely new machine thinking it would help and it has not

I also have this problem on iMac in work, i do a lot of banners, popups etc in relatively small resolution, iMac is with retina display, so i need to zoom-in artwork to 300% to see everything, especially hair, when i use 4px brush with 100% hardness to mask hair and move picture with space (shortcut space was also used by some system shortcut, so i switched-off all system shortcuts except snapshot of whole screen to a png file), often Photoshop freeze and brush is changed to cursor. I can't do anything except save psd file, and reopen it.

I have had this issue too, but only recently. It seemed to start when I got a pen tablet to work with. One one monitor is windows and the mouse and the other is the tablet (essentially a monitor with mouse/pointer support). It will constantly lock up ALL pointer devices. Cannot click the mouse or pen. The best I can do it move the pointer. I cannot even click other windows... I have to alt+tab to move between windows and use keyboard to end Adobe in task manager.

This is a constant issue in which I've so far been told by Adobe it's the tablet, and the tablet company it's Adobe. Someone take responsibility please?
