Custom bullet points in Photoshop. Can it be done, if so, how?

Is there anyway to use custom graphics/icons as bullet points in bulleted lists in photoshop? I know how to change it from the dot, dash, circle and square. I don't want to use those 4 options. I want to be able to choose a custom graphic and use that for the bullet point. Is it possible? If it is, then how would I go about doing it? I know you can make the bulleted list, then place the graphic over the dots and make it look "almost" like it was typed that way, but it would be a much better solution if you could just choose a custom graphic to use as the bullet point instead of having to do double work and spend all that extra time doing it. I sure hope this can be done, it would be such a time saver for everyone who would like to do this.

I'm guessing that as you are doing this with Photoshop, you are not creating pages and pages of text, but maybe a poster or web page. If that's the case, then it would not be too big a deal to design a complex shape bullet, position the first and last manually, and use the Move Tool > Align (in the Options Bar) to automatically place the rest. This assumes regular line spacing of course, and your layout might not be doing that.

An advantage of the above approach is that you would not be limited to mono-color shapes, but could instead use raster images as bullets. That has some appeal to me, if you could resist going OTT.

We are not supposed to suggest non-Adobe products, but a lot of people have Office 365 which includes Publisher. If you don't use Office, then I believe Open Office Writer is a close equivalent of Publisher, and I think that the OO apps are free.
