Customizing Scroll Behavior for Horizontal Movement and Zoom

New Here ,
Mar 20, 2024 Mar 20, 2024

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to optimize my workflow in Photoshop and was hoping to customize my scrolling behavior. Actually, I'd like to set up my workspace so that holding Shift while scrolling with the mouse moves the canvas horizontally, and using Cmd (or Ctrl) with the scroll function zooms in and out of the image.

Does anyone have an idea if this is possible to do in photoshop

Thanks in advance for your help!

You would need custom mouse software, this is not a feature of Photoshop or either macOS or Windows.

Got it . So natively there is no way to change the modifiers behavior. I was more interested in knowing that.

Custom mouse software: Ya that would work, but it will switch all your shortcuts as well as you are going to modify the behavior of the modifiers globally ..

Maybe you already know this, but in the Photoshop Settings (Preferences)>Tools you can check  Zoom with Scroll Wheel so you don't need use a modifier key to zoom in/out of the image.
