Question

Delayed Refresh/Screen Lag?

I am using a purchased action on a relatively small file (1500px x 1800 px @ 200dpi) which is only 8MB in size.  I have 16GB of RAM on a MAC with basically only PS CC2020 running.

After I run the action, when I zoom into the file it zooms in quickly, but zooming out again takes a long time.  The same is true when I make modifications to the different layers to change colours, etc.  I have to click them on and off a few time to get the changes to be put into effect.

Normally, when I do this the changes are displayed instantaneously and with larger files.  Any ideas what may cause this?  The complexity of the layers?  I was wondering if there was a ‘universal refresh’ command/key in PS?

After action is performed and you save the image, (then relaunch Photoshop and) reopen image, is there still problem with zooming out?

I will try that.  What I did today was zoom in, locked the computer and went to work for seven hours.  When I logged back on I was able to turn layers on and off and zoom in and out.  As I was making my way through turning each of the group on and off,   PS crashed.  I have the image back up and it appears to be working ok?

The action is definitley finished when you are zooming and this doesn't happen with any other files? What is the action doing? Can you post a screenshot?

Hi, thank you for your reply.  The action has definitely finished.  Below is a screen shot on another image.  This one is only 72dpi.  Essentially, the action is turning the raster into a vector looking image.

I should have also said it appears to happen on every image I use and I have modified sizes and resolutions.
